Vibrant new look, inspiring new sounds, completely revamped stage piano - the Grandstage X

Discover Grandstage X, Korg's flagship stage piano, completely redesigned with seven inspiring sound engines, 700 preloaded sounds, a user-friendly interface and a sleek design. Every aspect of the Grandstage X is organised intuitively, making it effortless to select and play your favourite sounds. With its elegant two-tone light ivory body and perforated side panels, the Grandstage X not only delivers the best sound quality, it's also a real showpiece, whether on stage or in the studio.

The Grandstage X isn't just a stage piano, it's a benchmark of excellence. Get ready to elevate your performance and let the Grandstage X take you and your music to new heights.

Seven inspiring sound engines

Grandstage X features seven independent sound engines, each of which can be considered an instrument in its own right. These sound engines deliver unrivalled sound quality and performance across a wide range of sounds, making the Grandstage X the ultimate stage piano.

Superior piano and electric piano sounds with the SGX-2 and EP-1 engines

Equipped with the SGX-2 acoustic piano sound engine, the Grandstage X includes a vast library of world-renowned pianos. The SGX-2 engine delivers the subtle yet powerful expressiveness of a top-quality acoustic piano, with loop-free samples on all keys, up to 12 levels of velocity variation, damper resonance that mimics the sound of pedal pressure, and even mechanical noise. The result is a piano sound that offers the subtle yet powerful expressiveness of a professional acoustic piano.

The Grandstage X includes 13 main pianos, including 6 famous grand pianos selected from German, Italian and Japanese classical grand pianos. The new GSX and Nautilus pianos can even be superimposed on the GSX Far and Nautilus Far pianos to create the perfect piano ambience of your choice.

Other piano sounds include the well-known upright and small grand pianos, the OASYS piano popular with musical ensembles, the legendary SG1D Korg stage piano, the M1 piano essential to POPS ensembles of the 80s and 90s, and the period fortepiano, to name but a few.

In response to requests from many professional musicians, three mono piano tones and a midrange variation are available. These mono piano tones, derived from a dedicated mono recording source, and a piano tone that does not interfere with the EQ bandwidth of other instruments in a band, offer unparalleled clarity and harmony, as well as performance options previously unavailable.

The "EP-1" electric piano sound generator incorporates the Tine I Early into the typical model that uses a metal bar (tine). Its typical distorted sound reproduces the familiar sound that we all know and love, and that can be found in so many famous pieces of music. The collection also includes seven other vintage electric piano sounds: Tine I Late, Tine II, Tine V, DMP, and the 200 and 200A. MDS (Multi-Dimensional Synthesis) technology responds smoothly to the most delicate keyboard keys. The German EP and Tablet EP models are also available, with a sound design that perfectly simulates realistic amps and speakers, and even vintage effects.

Three unique organ sounds with CX-3, VOX and FC-1 engines

The "CX-3" tone wheel organ sound generator is a perfect reproduction of the famous Korg organ. The "VOX" transistor organ tone generator reproduces the sound of the VOX organ, which was launched in the 1960s and had a major influence on popular music. The other transistor organ sound generator, FC-1, reproduces the small organ that dominated that era at the same time as the VOX organ. Combined with the built-in rotary speaker effect and vibrato effect, you'll rediscover the pleasure of playing the organ.

A wide range of sounds thanks to the AL-1 and HD-1 engines

The Grandstage X has a total of 700 Programmes. In addition to the five sound engines listed above, Grandstage X also includes the AL-1 analogue modelling engine for precise leads and thick brass sounds, and the HD-1 PCM modelling engine for a wide variety of sounds and instruments. The HD-1 includes many distinctive keyboard instrument sounds, such as 8-level multi-sampled Clavi D and Clavi E, harpsichord, pipe organ, 6-level multi-sampled electric grand piano and FM electric piano with its unique metallic sound.

Stunning flagship design

The Grandstage X has a distinctive, instantly recognisable design that is destined to become a benchmark. The solid aluminium body is designed with gentle curves, and the curves that rise from the bottom to the sides are made of perforated metal. The vintage, futuristic look of the design is combined with a light ivory-white top panel, creating a striking presence.

Key-Touch slider for instant expressive control

The key-touch slider gives you instant control over how the volume and timbre of the keys change with each keystroke, allowing you to tailor the feel of the keyboard in real time to the music you're playing. Simply adjusting this slider gives you the sensation of playing a more or less sensitive keyboard, enhancing the expressiveness of the Grandstage X as you find the perfect position for your own playing style.

Up to 3 simultaneous sound engines for splits and layers

The engine control section is well laid out, with three dedicated knobs and sliders. The on/off buttons let you activate each of the motors and choose whether to split or layer them. The sliders let you adjust the volume balance as you wish. The programme name for each part is displayed on screen for easy editing. Layers and splits can be used simultaneously. For example, the right hand can be combined with piano or strings, while the left hand can be combined with bass.

Add warmth to your sound with the Nutube lamp

The Analog Tone function provides an analogue sound effect that can only be achieved with tube sound. The ON/OFF button activates the effect, and the potentiometer adjusts the intensity of the effect, so you can find the sound that suits you best.

Fine-tune your sound with effects and EQ

Grandstage X offers easy control of reverb and delay directly from the main panel, so you can quickly switch between effect types and adjust their depth.
A new 'shimmer' reverb has also been added, and a 3-band EQ is also available to adjust the overall character of the sound to suit the acoustic characteristics of each venue.

The Unison function makes it easy to magnify sounds

The 'Unison' function, familiar from analogue synthesizers but unique to stage pianos, is included. By adding this function to the sound of the FM synth or piano, it's possible to achieve an exceptional, expansive chorus-like effect. The number of notes can also be adjusted using the dedicated slider.

Ergonomic rhythm section and chord progression

The Grandstage X is equipped with a rhythm and chord progression function that is an evolution of the 'Drum Track' function found on some Korg synthesizers. The complete rhythm track, consisting of drums and bass, can be adapted to the chords played or to a predefined chord progression, and can be played on the Grandstage X alone or as an accompaniment to the Grandstage X.

Premium Japanese Crafted RH3 Keyboard for Nuanced Expression

Meticulously crafted in Japan, the Grandstage X features a true weighted hammer action. The RH-3 Keyboard is meticulously crafted to replicate the weight distribution of a grand piano, with a heavier feel in the lower register and a lighter touch in the upper register, allowing for nuanced expression. This sophisticated and detailed keyboard guarantees a realistic and immersive playing experience.
